Forge Philosophy 4-16-08

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley

Today, the Forge mashed it up with “Grindy” consisting of 10 clean&jerks (135), 5 rds of Cindy, 10 clean&jerks, 5 rds of Cindy, and 10 clean&jerks. I collapsed in a heap at 15:20.

Monday, we did: 50 pushups, 1000m row, 30 pushups, 1000m row, and 20 pushups for time.

Yesterday, our black box crew did some row sprinting in teams. It was inspiring to say the least….

    Tuesday 4/15-
    Row Sprinting: Fun and Challenging
Wallballs: Not fun. Damn near passed out…

  2. Debbie says:

Poor Drew was teamed up with me, it takes me longer to row so he had so much more time on the wall balls than everybody else.

I did 133 wall balls while Drew was rowing.

  3. Brett W says:

Grindy kicked my tail for 18:40. That’s all I could give her today.

  4. Jamie H. says:

Tuesday I did Grace with 95lbs. I made it through, but it took way to long.

Last night I did Grindy. All kipping pullups and 65lb clean & jerk. Finished in 16:27.
