Forge Philosophy 2-20-08

Few men are born brave; many become so through
training and force of discipline.

(Thucydides, The History of the
Peloponnesian War, c. 404 BC)

Today’s workout consisted of 5 rds of 10 power cleans at 115lbs, and 10 pullups, followed by one 500m row for time….I completed this in 10:02.

Good To have Bayan and Eric H. back.
Wed. kick my butt! I think it was 14:07 rx for me.
I’m looking forward to Vinnie’s birthday wod Friday, it should be nasty.
By the way Vinnie, whats with the Brett”Holly”Wood? I finally get a picture on the website and I’m hit with this.

Chasing Vince got me to 10:42. Friday will be bad. As many rounds in 40?

Power Cleans at 65lbs and jumping pullups. Since I don’t have a rower, I had to drag myself upstairs and run 500m. Finished in 10:24.

nicely done Jamie! I’d like to see you compete one-on-one against your husband…that would be interesting…maybe the subject of a future crossfit video????

2/21 – Did 5 rounds of 10 Cleans (135#) & 10 HSPU. 11:50. Harsh…my lower back strength has diminished quite a bit. No big plates (largest is 25#) so had to squat down a little lower to get the initial clean. Noticed that I was on my toes a few times when receiving the clean…not good. Haven\’t done them in a while, so it was good to get back at it.

A brief word of advice…never stop training. Trying to work myself back up is a bitch. I will never take such a long time \”off\” again!!!

Vince, I can\’t wait to see the WOD tomorrow! Happy Birthday…try not to hurt us too bad 😉

  6. Jamie H. says:

Thanks Vince! John and I are very competitive with each other when we do a WOD together. He pushes me to do better than what I think I can.

    Happy Birthday!
