Forge Philosophy 2-4-08

As some of you know, our friend Joe Lawson is now in South America preparing to climb the highest peak on the continent, Mt. Aconcagua. Last week, Joe prepared a special little workout and invited some friends to help enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning and to commemorate his departure.

After learning what Joe had in mind, I decided to take the rational approach and bring my video camera. And I was nursing an injury. And my doctor ordered me not to exert myself.

What I offer here is a video representation of the day’s events. Let me know how you like it…Most of our guests that day had never participated in a crossfit workout before, and my gut tells me that they won’t be speaking to Joe for a very long time.

Also, today at the forge we did a 300 workout – the blacksmith version: 50 box jumps, 50 pushups, 50 double unders, 50 knees to elbows, 50 deadlifts (135), and 50 wallballs. I finished at 15:20.

    Good video Vince. Now I’m pissed that I miss all the fun! Ya’ll are lookin good; it’s nice to see such a big crowd for a SOS…especially one as brutal as that.

    Keep up the great work gang…I’m jealous!!!

    Nice work Vinnie ! Wish I could of made that one. But, 8:30 a.m. is the middle of the night for me. Monday was rough. My doubleunders are weak. 18:24

    Just moved back to New Orleans last week and still searching for a house. With everything going on, I have only been able to do a workout here and there. Not to mention I took off for a couple weeks for Christmas and New Years. By the looks of things, if I came up there now ya’ll would run circles around me…again.

    Hopefully I will be able to stop by for a workout in a few months, and by then I may be back in shape. Til then, keep up the great work. It’s nice to see the videos & read the blogs. They help me push myself during my workouts cause I can imagine that I am not working alone.
